The Light Blues’ campaign is currently at a pause as they sit second in the SWPL standings unbeaten after 11 matches, with the side back in action at Broadwood on Sunday, November 3 when they take on Montrose.
Speaking to the official Rangers website reflecting on the last few weeks, the head coach said: “It is a good time for us to have a break I think.
“We have had a tough run of games and managed to come out unscathed on the majority, so it is good point for a little break for us.
“It has come at a good time and hopefully it gives us a well-earned reset and recharge and ready to go again afterwards.
“Break so far? We have had an excellent couple of days worth of training.
“The players have been brilliant, honestly it has been one of the best international breaks that we have had, their attitude and application towards the sessions.
“It just shows the mindset of the players, we have only got a handful of players left because of the players that we do have go away on international duty which is brilliant.
“We are in a good place, hopefully, the players that have gone away feel the same because the players that have been here have been brilliant.
“It looks like we are in a good place and we are ready to kick on.”
The former Lioness has spoken of several of her players currently away representing their nations, with four Gers stars in the Scotland camp and the boss is hopeful of a first senior cap for defender Kathy Hill after her start to the season.
She continued: “Players away with Scotland? They are all very match deserving of it.
“I was delighted that Kathy got selected this time around because I think you can see that she has been on another level this year, I think we have seen another level to her game.
“She has been super consistent and very important for us in that backline and you can see what an important player she has become for us.
“It just shows that you play well and you are confident in what you do you will get selected because she has been there and thereabouts a few times but I think her performances have shown this time around that she's a real key contender.
“I have got no doubts that if Pedro did put his trust in her that she'd perform like she has been performing and we have got to hope that she is given a chance at some point and I have got every faith in her that she'll do great.
“All the players that are going have more than deserved it, they have been brilliant so I am looking forward to them going away and getting a little bit of a different environment, a different point of view and then coming back ready to go.”
Potter also spoke of midfielder Liv McLoughlin who has been called up to the England Under-23s squad for the first time, saying it is a real sign of her progress since making the switch north of the border.
She added: “It shows a lot because that Under-23s side in England is so competitive.
“You look at the names that are being picked, they are players that are playing regularly in the WSL and performing well.
“It shows the levels that she got to over the last 18 months, I think she has progressed and improved.
“It just shows you that you are still in the eyeline of everybody.
“You are getting seen and watched and your performances do matter so it is good that she probably doesn't feel like she is out of sight out of mind and she is still getting tracked and she is in a better position than what she was when she was down south.
“It is really good for her to see that this move and making it permanent was a good one for her and it has been key to her progression in her football career and hopefully her international career as well.”
