The Gers will take on their city rivals in the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup at the national stadium for a place in May’s showpiece final as the old foes prepare to face-off once again.
Speaking to RangersTV at the home of Scotland the head coach is hoping her side put on a show tomorrow lunchtime as they look to rise to the occasion that awaits.
She commented: “I can’t wait, sometimes you take this in a little bit more than what you do on the actual day because you are so focused and focused on the pitch and your players.
“Sometimes it is not until you reflect afterwards and take these moments in before that you can really take it in.
“It should be a good game. You just look at the stadium and the pitch and you get excited just being in here.
“You know what type of game it should be and how nice it should be to play on that pitch. We are just excited and we can’t wait to get going.
The Light Blues are targeting further silverware in the run in and the former Lioness is hopeful her side can use their Sky Sports Cup last four success in this fixture to overcome their rivals in cup competition again.
She continued: “Well we saw the Old Firm semi-final previously in the Sky Sports Cup. Which was probably to my recollection one of the best games of the season so far.
“I think that had everything. We were so dominant in that game, yes it was a 3-2 game but that was two penalties to them, which changes the game completely.
“That is what you have got to do and have got to do in these big moments in semi-finals to get into finals.
“You have got to remember this is still a semi-final even though there is a lot of noise around this Old Firm semi-final, you have still not won anything when you win this game.
“We have got to make sure that we do our business first and then hopefully stepping into a final do the business again.
Potter feels these days are what you work so hard for throughout the campaign and has urged her team to get over the line and book their place in a second final of the campaign.
She added: “All the hard work you have done throughout the season does it lead to these moments and it just about trying to book a place in that final now? It does and that is what it can feel like sometimes.
“We have done so well up to now, that you kind of look at it and go, they deserve this moment.
“I think you see these games and go definitely the last game was worthy of a final game.
“Especially the tempo and the quality of the game that it was played at.
“You could see two good teams going at it and really wanting to win the game and you are going to see that again on Saturday.
“We are looking forward to an exciting game and we are hoping that we can step up and be the difference on the day.
