The Gers gaffer saw goals from Mia McAulay, Rachel Rowe, Rio Hardy and Liv McLoughlin help see off Partick Thistle at Tynecastle.
It meant the Light Blues retained the Sky Sports Cup they won last season and Potter won’t settle for just one success.
Speaking to RangersTV, she said: “It will take a bit of time for me to reflect on my emotions.
“It’s my first trophy as a manager and it was important for us to lift the trophy today.
“You don’t think about yourself and it is only until someone asks you about it that you do.
“It is nice and hopefully it is the first of many at this great club.
“You can see what it means to the players. It was Rowe’s first final and she came up with a great goal.
“Rio came up here and scored in a final. Some of the players have lifted this trophy before but it doesn’t mean any less - you can see what it means to them.
“We have some work to do but we are hungry for more.
“We have had an amazing season up to now and after last week’s disappointment that was the best thing that could have happened to us.
“To get our first piece of silverware, hopefully the first of many this year.”
McAulay’s opener was cancelled out by Rachel Donaldson before Rowe’s stunning strike put the Gers back in front.
Hardy’s fine finish made it 3-1 ahead of the break, with McLoughlin completing a comprehensive win.
Potter praised her players for responding to Thistle’s goal and says the whole squad deserve credit for lifting the trophy - even if they didn’t feature in the final.
She added: “How hard we have worked and some of the performances we have put in, we have had some big players missing in big moments, but other players have stepped in to do an unreal job.
“You could see everyone stepped up and we scored some unreal goals.
“We had good character and for Partick to score, it livened the game up a bit.
“It made us get a spring in our step and we knew we had to step it up.
“I was really impressed with how we managed the game. We could have had a few more goals, which the players might be disappointed with.
“But to come away from a final with a 4-1 win and a good performance, I am really proud.”
