The Light Blues looked set to be heading for defeat before goals from Kirsty Maclean and a Kirsty Howat penalty turned the game on its head as the Light Blues claimed the trophy for the second season running.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match the head coach says she is happy her side were able to find a way to win as they responded from a slow start in the match to turn it around at the end.
She said: “It is always nice to come away with a win, obviously we left it late, later than what I would have liked initially. I wasn’t happy in the first half, particularly how we settled in our shape and our manner going into the game, I thought we started really slow.
“Coming in at half time we were still in the game at 1-0, and then you could see the complete difference in the two halves, we started the second half a lot stronger, we just grew into the game which was really nice to see.”
“I said to the girls afterwards to not particularly play well and come away with a win I think is huge, so that will breed confidence in the group and it definitely breeds confidence around the camp and belief in what we are doing, so we are definitely going in the right direction.”
The head coach highlighted the character of her side to dig deep and turn the game around and hopes to continue installing a winning mentality in the team as the start of the league season approaches.
She continued: “We are still trying things out; we are still seeing how things are going and we are still trying to get people back into full swing.
"We weren’t at the races for the whole game, it was really pleasing for me to see the character, to stay in the game, to dig in and really keep pushing at the end. As soon as we got the equaliser we as staff knew that we probably going to go on and win it.
“It is just winning games and getting that winning mentality, it is something we need to get used to very quickly, but I have said previously it is the process to that.
"This definitely helps with building that process and character and the end result that we want, I am more than happy with the win today”
