Rangers will make the short trip to take on rivals Celtic this weekend as they look to claim the city bragging rights in the lunchtime meeting at New Douglas Park.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference, she commented: “I think whenever there is a derby or there is an Old Firm it always brings that extra little bit of something.
“You just feel it, it is in the build up to the week.
“It is everything that surrounds it with the media doing press conferences before those games it looks slightly different.
“There is always something, there is that added edge and whenever you play your rivals you want to win, so it always brings that little bit more.
“That little bit more spice to it so these games are the exciting ones and these are the games they are getting more and more often in the league; we are having better and better games now as the seasons go on.
“These better games are coming round a lot more often so hopefully they will start to feel like we are playing more games like this more often instead of just getting it when you are just playing against Glasgow City or Celtic.
The former Lioness has given a positive injury update on her squad, with the return of midfielder Chelsea Cornet, who will be involved with the team for the first time since August.
She continued: “We are all good, Chelsea Cornet is back so she has trained fully this week.
“Which is a huge boost for us, we know what strengths and capabilities that Chelsea has and brings to our team.
“She was one of our players of the season last year, she was an absolute standout so it is a big boost for us to have her back in and around training and in the squad as well.
“We are looking healthy, that healthy that I have got to leave a couple of players out of the squad which is never nice so we are looking better on that front.”
Potter has challenged her side able to prove themselves against their fellow challengers in the league as they look to take a positive step forward in their league campaign this season.
She added: “That is one of the things that I have said and the players know that themselves, I don't even need to say that.
“Over head-to-heads we have felt that we have come out on top the majority of the time.
“Although results have not necessarily proved that, but that is down to us.
“We have got to go out and prove that if we want to claim that we have got a good squad and we have got the best players, then we have got to go out and prove it essentially.
“These are the games where you have got to prove it in, we need to make sure that we are just continuing to grow and push.
“We have not settled, we keep going, the players are probably over critical of themselves at times.
“It is my job to try and build their confidence back up, we have got to keep trying to do the right things, we are in a good place mentally as well as physically, we are excited going into Sunday's game.”
