The Light Blues started fast and could have been out of sight at the break before ultimately taking a three-goal lead through a Kirsty Howat hat-trick, but then letting their opponents close the deficit towards the end.
Speaking to RangersTV after the win in the capital, the head coach said: “I am frustrated, yes it's three points but I think it is hard for me to sum up without watching the game.
“I don't want to speak emotionally, I just said that to the players there, I think it is some of the best football I have seen us play in a long time.
“The amount of chances we created was a lot, I think we could have been four or five up at half time.
“I said to the players you can't leave it at such a close game when you have got a player like Baucom up front that can score on a sniff.
“She only needs half a chance and she has put it in the back of net.
“It has kind of been the difference, we have had loads and loads of chances and not put them in the back of the net and then we make it tetchy at the end and having to feel like you are hanging on to a game at 3-2 when you should have been dead and buried and out of sight.
“The three points important but there is a bigger picture there for me looking at being able to finish chances and sure up a game.
“If we are not putting them in at one end, we are definitely not giving teams opportunities to score at the other.
“It is frustrating, I need to watch it back but my emotions I feel is just frustration right now.”
“We need to be more clinical. We did make the keeper make saves and she made some absolutely excellent saves, but there is other moments where we should be scoring those chances.
“We are not shooting from 25-30 yards out and expecting to score.
“We have did some really good work around the box and got into some really good goal scoring opportunities and we should be hitting the back of the net with those, so we are disappointed on that front and we are disappointed to concede the two goals at the other end as well.”
Potter heaped praise on the match winner Kirsty Howat whose goals were the difference on the night whilst also expressing her delight at seeing Kirsty Maclean return to the pitch, who made her first appearance since January having made a recovery from injury.
The Light Blues now turn their attention to the season finale against Partick Thistle, with results elsewhere having to go their way to claim the title with a substantial goal difference deficit to overturn.
She added: “I thought Kirsty Howat was excellent tonight, her all round game she deserved her hat-trick, her three goals.
“I am really pleased for her; she has been building since she has come back from injury and I think we are just starting to see the best of her now as well.
“It is always good to get Ini back on the pitch, you can see the quality that she brings and the calmness to the team when she steps on there, so two big positives in them two tonight.
“We prepare, we go again, we dig the bones of that one on Friday and we prepare for Partick and one last little push.”
