The Gers unfortunately missed out on capturing the SWPL title on Sunday afternoon but immediately have the chance to seal a second successive cup double at the national stadium.
Glasgow City, who leapfrogged the Light Blues to second place on the final day, stand in their way, and Potter says it’s important her side end the season on a hugely positive note.
Speaking to the media at Hampden Park this afternoon to preview Sunday’s showdown, she said: “We can’t look back too much. Yes, we had to look at the game [on Sunday] and certain moments, but we’ve managed to do that, progress, and move forward.
“We had a good training session today and we’re looking to bounce back and put things on a more positive note heading into the weekend.
“We can’t make up for what happened in the league; we won’t shy away from that. We need to put a few things right and make sure we’re proud of our performances.
“We haven’t been proud of a lot of performances we’ve put on throughout this season, and it hasn’t been good enough ultimately.
“But we’ve got another game and a chance to put it right. When there’s a trophy on the line you need to do all that you can.
“Yes, there was a big trophy on the line on Sunday and we didn’t manage to get that one over the line, but we’ve got another chance again this week.
“We need to make sure we’re doing everything we can because it’s the last one of the season.”
Potter lifted a cup double in her debut campaign in charge last time out, triumphing over Hearts in the final of this competition 12 months ago.
Glasgow City represent an entirely different proposition, with the side having run out 1-0 winners over the Light Blues at Ibrox under a month ago.
The Gers Head Coach hopes the experience that her side have garnered in cup competitions in recent years proves the difference.
She added: “We’ve got to make sure we’re going after a cup double. We have three trophies in under two years, and we want another one.
“We need to make sure we’re doing our best to get that.
“What challenge will Glasgow City bring? They’ve been super consistent and they’re a tough team. I think they’re one of the best footballing teams in the league.
“They’re dangerous and offer a different amount of threats; they do what they do really well. They want to play football, which is nice to see and go up against.
“It will be a tactical game. They have a really good way of working and [Leanne Ross] has some clear ways in the way she wants them to play.
“I enjoy playing against City and I expect a tough team. We need to make sure we’re working for every eventuality and not leaving any stone unturned.”
