Ibrox as the Light Blues set-up a last four tie with Aberdeen at Hampden in January.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Wright said: “It is a sake of job done. Getting into the next round is always the most important. I thought we were really good in the first-half, we created a lot of chances and obviously we were trying to get the breakthrough.
“It was ideal that we managed to get the breakthrough so early but it was just unfortunate that we weren't able to take more chances later on in the game.
“The most important thing is getting in the hat for the next round and we have done that so now it is time to park the cup for a bit. We have got that to look forward to eventually but for now we have to continue to try and build on the results we have had.”
Wright came into the starting line-up tonight to start his first match since early September and says it is important he keeps working hard to show he is ready for these opportunities.
He continued: “I really enjoyed it, it was great to get back in the team. It was just important for me to keep working hard in training and show the manager that I am ready for selection.
“I am glad he put me back in the team tonight and hopefully I can try and kick on and get some more minutes from there.
“At a club like this there's a game every two or three days, it was a matter of getting into the semi-final and now we have done that we can pick up the league action again on Saturday.”
