The defender enjoyed a productive time with Scotland in the most recent set of international fixtures as he helped Steve Clarke's side to maximum points in their bid for FIFA World Cup qualification next summer.
He returns to the Rangers Training Centre with interim Head Coach, Stevie Smith, in charge following the departure of Russell Martin, and insists the players are hungry and focused to make a return to winning ways.
Speaking to the media ahead of the visit of Jim Goodwin's side to Ibrox, he said: "It's been strange coming back to no manager.
"I got back yesterday with the international lads, so I've only been back for one day. We trained yesterday and trained hard. The boys enjoyed it.
"I've missed a lot of it. I enjoyed training yesterday, and the boys did as well.
"We need to win games. It's as simple as that. The important thing is that we get back to winning games.
"It's important that we represent the club and go put in a performance at the weekend."
It's been a difficult start to the campaign for the Gers in terms of results as they strive to get back into a winning habit.
Souttar has been an important member of the side in recent years and insists everyone at the club is determined to bring sustained, long-term success to Ibrox.
He added: "Good things take time, but it's important that we get there and get there quick.
"Whoever comes in next, the boys will be behind them, as will the club, because everyone is desperate for this club to do well. It's important we get there.
"No one likes to be in the position that we're in. We know it's not good enough.
"It's important for all of us to stand up at the weekend and put in a performance that is replicated of what the expectations are here.
"Everyone understands how important it is. It's probably why the people in charge are taking their time, and rightly so, because it's a massive appointment.
"Whoever comes in will have the full backing of everyone at the club and the players too, because ultimately we're the exact same as the supporters.
"We want to win games and the club to be successful, so whoever comes in, it's important everyone gets right behind."
