The Light Blues have already tasted competitive action in the form of Champions League qualifying over the past week, putting up strong showings with a win over SK Slavia Praha before narrowly losing out to Ajax in stoppage time at Petershill in the final.
Speaking to RangersTV to preview their league opener away to Montrose, the defender says the side are well equipped to make a fast start, “We are looking forward to it.
“Obviously it has been a good pre-season, had a bit of European football as well, so we are just looking forward to kicking off another season.
“I think there are a lot of positives to take from the midweek games; we went 120 minutes on Wednesday night with quite a thin squad and the girls have still managed to perform well on Saturday.
“Sometimes it is kind of hard for teams to get straight back into things, so we have had those European games which have gave us an opportunity to feel that competitiveness again, and we need to be ready to go straight away on Sunday.”
The Gers have had another busy summer of ins and outs across the board with eight new arrivals joining Leanne Crichton’s side this summer, with the 32-year-old feeling all the incomings have settled in well with the existing group so far.
She continued: “I think there is always a turnover. If you look around the league, there is quite a lot of players moved away, but if we focus on the players that have come in, I think they have been really good.
“The fans would have the opportunity to see some of them and how well they have done, and I am really excited for those players and the rest of the team for how we look for going forward.”
A trip to Links Park awaits this Sunday afternoon for Rangers in a repeat of last summer’s opener, with the defender confident a full pre-season this time round for their Head Coach to work with the players will stand them in good stead for a positive start.
She added: “That is obviously the aim; it was a bit all over the place last season; Leanne came in a bit later, whereas this year she has had a full pre-season.
“I am looking forward to it. Montrose were brilliant last year, really unlucky not to go into the top six.
“It is always a difficult place to go, and I am sure they have got some new signings, and they have improved as well. We'll need to be at it from the get-go.”
