RANGERS Football Club can today announce that Kayla McCoy will depart the club following the expiry of her contract.
The 27-year-old enjoyed two successful years at the Light Blues having joined from Houston Dash in August 2021. She was part of the side that won the SWPL title in 2021/22 in her first season at the club whilst also featuring in the team that won their first ever Sky Sports Cup back in December.
The forward found the target on 16 occasions in 27 outings in all competitions in her debut season at the Light Blues. Another 14 goals were to follow in 30 appearances last campaign before her season was ended prematurely due to injury.
The club supported Kayla through her rehabilitation programme towards the end of the season as she recovered in time to be named in the Jamaica squad for this month’s FIFA World Cup, as they prepare for the competition beginning on August 20.
Everyone at Rangers would like to thank Kayla for her time at the club and we wish her well for the tournament and best of luck for the future.
