Leading 3-1, Killie puled a late goal back through Joe Wright to set up a nervy finish, albeit the Gers held out for the victory.
Speaking to RangersTV, the attacker said: "We probably made it harder than it needed to be today. Obviously coming away with the three points was the most important thing, but we are probably disappointed to concede so late in the game.
"We just about got hold of the game keeping possession, but overall, we have come away with the result."
The Light Blues were a goal down before they came roaring back, and Kent continued: "That has probably happened more often than it should in recent weeks. It is something we have dealt with, and the manager reiterates that we have to keep maintaining our own style and the goals will come eventually.
"It is important [for me] to keep getting in those areas, getting shots away and the more shots you have on target, the more likely it is to go in, so I am pleased to score."
Kent also discussed his relationship with boss Michael Beale, adding: "The manager has played a pivotal part in my career to date coming through the youth system at Liverpool firstly, so there is a good trust between us.
"Obviously, the way he implements his style and philosophies into the team, it is something every player would want to buy into as he is very knowledgeable.
"It is just important we keep playing the way we want to play and keep stacking the wins up."
