The Gers assistant coach was delighted with the attacking display and the relentless attitude of the squad. With a five goal lead at half-time, the Light Blues kept the pressure on Motherwell in the second-half.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, he said: “We are delighted. I think the girls were excellent throughout and they showed a real professionalism in their play today.
“The way they moved the ball and some of the chances we created and goals we scored were excellent.
“It was our reward for dominating the game but we are so pleased with the enthusiasm and the relentlessness of the players throughout.
“We spoke about that we want to be professional and it is professional to keep going and not to take our foot off the gas and I think the girls did that.
“We challenged them at half time to continue the high standards that they set in the first-half and credit to them they did that in the second half.”
With five changes to the starting line-up from the win at Forfar, Murphy was pleased with the way the squad adapted. Kirsty Howat, Rachel McLauchlan and Sam Kerr all made their first appearance for the club having joined from Glasgow City.
He continued: “They have only had a few sessions with us and I think you can see already that they are familiar with our game model and how we are trying to play.
“They obviously know a lot of the girls so it helps and they made a massive impact today but you also see the players that we bring on can do that as well.
“It is a really good spot for us to be in now that we have got that strength and depth to pull upon which is great for us moving forward.”
“Our speed of play and our movement in and around the box and some of the finishing and decision making was excellent.
“One thing we have asked the players to do a little bit better is the quality in and around the box and I think we got that today.”
