The Light Blue assistant boss highlighted how the squad’s pre-season has benefitted the girls as they prepare to continue their Cup campaign.
Speaking exclusively with RangersTV this week he said: “For us, we’ve had a really good pre-season.
"We’ve started the League Cup campaign very well, so we just need to make sure that we continue the performances in the cup and learn from our experiences in our pre-season games.
“With Covid, it has been difficult to arrange these games last year and we are very grateful that we were able to attract the teams to take the games on.
"For the staff and the players, it’s a great opportunity to see where we are, and we will learn a lot from these experiences as well and take a lot from it and act as a springboard to take us into the season starting.”
Murphy continued by looking ahead to the SWPL Cup as the Gers face Aberdeen with a fantastic opportunity to progress to the next round with a game still to play.
He added: “Aberdeen are a good young team; they’ve had two successful promotions and have a lot of international youth players.
“They will come here wanting to do well with energy and enthusiasm.
"They’ve already qualified and will come here with a lot of confidence but we need to make sure that we are switched on and professional so we can progress on to the next stage as well.”
