The 18-year-old has today committed his future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after signing the contract, King said: “I am just extremely happy to sign a long-term extension to my contract, it is amazing for me and my family. I have always wanted to play for this club and I am glad that it is continuing.
“I have been a fan of the club ever since I was born, my whole family are Rangers fans as well and I love this club so it was a no-brainer.
“I have had a few hard spells since moving into the first-team but it is all about learning, it is just about keeping my head down and keep working with the new staff and the players around me and it is only going to make me better.”
King is looking forward to the future working under new manager Michael Beale and his coaching staff and hopes he can continue to push himself every day.
He continued: “It has been great, it is a joy to be working under the gaffer again. I had him for a year or so when I first moved up to the first team when Steven [Gerrard] was here and it is as if he has never been away really. It has been amazing since he has been back in.
“I have spoken a lot with Neil [Banfield], he takes a lot to do with the defending side of things and it will be great to touch bases with him day in and day out and see what I can learn from him as well.
“At a club like this you need to push yourself forward every single day and be the best that you can be on and off the pitch and that is something that I am striving to do.”
King can’t wait for the return of the Scottish Premiership as Rangers prepare to face Hibernian later this evening. He added: “Everybody is buzzing. It has been quite a while since the last game and everyone is just raring to go and we can't wait to get out on the pitch in front of the fans.”
