The forward was named the standout player in the SWPL for October as she made history being named the first ever player to win it on back-to-back occasions.
Speaking to RangersTV after picking up the award at Hampden Stadium, she commented: “I am delighted, it was a little bit of a surprise to win it twice in a row. It is a great achievement for myself.
"I said it last time, it is my name on the award but we have had a great month as a team so I'll take it on behalf of the team and the achievements this month. It is really special; I am delighted and it is another one to put on the mantelpiece.”
The 26-year-old believes it is an exciting time to be at the club in what was an impressive month for the Light Blues overall as she highlighted the importance of the team building on the position they find themselves in.
She continued: “It is an exciting time to be at Rangers. Every day we are enjoying the sessions and you can see that on the pitch on a Sunday. It has been a great month, playing at Ibrox and we got a great result there and then we ended the month with a good win over Celtic so overall it was a really good month for us.
“I am really happy with my form. As a team we are playing really well, that comes to Jo and the style of play that she wants to play with us. Everyone has really embraced it since she has come in and we've listened and learned a lot, tactically and technically on the pitch. It is all coming into play now and we are really enjoying the way that we are playing.
“We have pushed ourselves this far and we can be really happy with the way we have played. Now we need to go a step further, we have obviously played everyone once in the league.
“It is this point that it gets tougher because teams know the way that you want to play and what you want to do. It is really important that we stick to what we have been doing. We prepare well in training and we make sure we get our performances on the weekend.”
The Gers are back in Sky Sports Cup action this Sunday and Howat says it is a competition they are targeting once again having claimed the trophy for the first time in their history last campaign.
She added: “We have got the quarter-final at the weekend, again we will be preparing the same way that we always do and we will be looking to get ourselves into a semi-final. It was obviously a cup that we won last season so it is definitely one that we will be looking to go and try win this season again.”
