KOSTA Nedeljković says it was an easy decision to join Rangers and insists he’s ready to give his all for the club.
The right-back became the 11th signing of the summer transfer window, joining on loan from Aston Villa and is excited to get started.
In an exclusive interview for RangersTV, Nedeljković said: “I am very excited. Rangers is such a big club, a big family, so I am really excited to join this club and to help the team to have a big success together.
“For the last five or six days we spoke, and for me it was an easy decision after the first meeting with the coach, and I only wanted Rangers.
“Three years ago, I started my senior career with Red Star; after this I went to Aston Villa and continued my one year and a half in Leipzig, and now I come to Rangers.
“It is a big opportunity, and it is also a big responsibility because I am always obsessed with big success and always try to stay positive and work hard, so I know I am ready to help the team and work together and progress together.”
Nedeljković was welcomed to the training centre by Vanja Dragojević and is excited to be reunited with his fellow Serbian.
He continued: “We have known each other for around 10 years; he was in Partizan Academy, and I was in Red Star’s Academy, so this is a derby, but we are close friends.
“When I moved from Serbia three years ago, it was hard to adapt. After this, I adapted to being alone somewhere.
“Vanja and I are so close in our private life; in Belgrade we would always go out to drink coffee, speak about everything, so we are so close and it is good for me to have him here.”
On what he expects from the Scottish league, and what he wants to bring to the team. He continued: “The Scottish league is very similar to English football; physicality is important.
“This is also why I came here, because it is similar to England. I am ready for this. Big derbies against Celtic, playing in Europe, I am ready here to bring my 300 per cent and try to win titles
“I like to play with my speed, with my transitions. I like to be in the final third as a right back but also take responsibility and be disciplined in defence. I heard amazing words about the atmosphere here, so it is similar to Serbia. From the first day, I felt at home, so I am very excited to play at Ibrox in front of the fans, and I will give my best.
“With Aston Villa, we played six games in pre-season; we played some games in England and some games in the training camp in Asia.
“For me it is so important to have the minutes in the leg and to progress with this pre-season. It was hard work, and after these six weeks I can say I am really ready mentally and physically.”
