Latest Rangers Loan Review

RANGERS have a number of players out on loan at present and here’s our review of how those who featured got on over the last week.

Josh McPake – Queen’s Park

Josh played the full 90 minutes and was on the scoresheet for the Spiders in their 2-0 win over Montrose in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

It was a terrific solo effort from the 21-year-old, who collected the ball midway inside his own half before driving through the heart of the Montrose defence and planting an unerring finish into the bottom corner.

The young attacker now has two goals – and an assist – in his last three appearances as Queen’s Park gear up for a trip to Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Kai Kennedy – Falkirk

Kai earned another start for the Bairns on Thursday evening as they exited the SPFL Trust Trophy to Scottish Championship opposition in Dundee.

It was a third successive start for the 20-year-old under manager John McGlynn, who will hope to retain his place in the side for their League One clash against Alloa Athletic next weekend.

Juan Alegria – Falkirk

Juan was a half-time substitute for the Bairns in their defeat to Dundee, playing 45 minutes as his side looked to mount a comeback.

It marked a second successive appearance off the bench for the Colombian, with Juan and Kai set to visit Alloa Athletic in League One action next time out.

Murray Miller – Alloa Athletic

Murray started and played 76 minutes as the Wasps played out a frenetic 4-2 defeat to Queen of the South in the SPFL Trust Trophy on Friday evening.

The young midfielder returned to the starting lineup after a substitute appearance in last weekend’s goalless draw with Montrose.

Brian Rice’s side host Falkirk in League One on Saturday afternoon as they look to return to winning ways.

Jay Hogarth – Alloa Athletic

Jay made his second successive start for the Wasps in their SPFL Trust Trophy exit at the hands of Queen of the South.

The 19-year-old has now made 20 appearances for Brian Rice’s side as they bid for promotion to the Scottish Championship, where they currently lie just a point adrift of the play-off places.
