It was a second successive appearance for the 24-year-old midfielder since arriving on loan in Spain, taking to the pitch with the match in the balance before Rayo netted their second goal eight minutes from time to seal the victory.
Alaves are back in action on Friday evening as they host Athletic Club at the Mendizorrotza Stadium.
