Latest Rangers Loan Review

RANGERS have a number of players out on loan across the Men’s, Women’s and Academy sides at present and here’s our review of how each of those fared over the weekend.

Ianis Hagi – Alaves

Ianis was a second half substitute as Alaves fell to a 2-0 defeat to Athletic Club on Saturday.

The Romanian midfielder will be keen to make an impact on the side once they return from the international break.

Sam Lammers – FC Utrecht

Sam netted for the second consecutive match as FC Utrecht produced a 1-0 victory over NEC Nijmegen at the weekend.

The Dutchman has made a tremendous impact since making the loan switch to the Eredivisie, registering six goal contributions in just ten outings.

Jose Cifuentes – Cruzeiro

Jose was a second half substitute as Cruzeiro marched into the Campeonato Mineiro final with a 3-1 aggregate triumph over Tombense.

The midfielder is continuing to build up his minutes after joining the club on a year-long loan last month.

Adam Devine – Motherwell

Adam was a second half substitute as the Steelmen were edged out by Aberdeen at Fir Park on Saturday afternoon.

The full-back will now join up with Scotland Under-21s as he looks forward to representing his country on the international stage.

Arron Lyall – Airdrieonians

Arron netted his first senior goal as the Diamonds ran out 5-2 winners over Arbroath at home.

Indeed, it was a dazzling performance from the 20-year-old midfielder who also grabbed a wonderful assist to put his side infront heading into the interval.

Jay Hogarth – Dumbarton

Jay started between the posts as Dumbarton produced an emphatic 5-2 triumph over Spartans in the capital.

The goalkeeper has enjoyed a consistent run in the Sons side since making the loan switch in January as they target promotion this term.

James Graham – Dumbarton

James also celebrated his first goal in senior football as he rounded off the Sons’ victory at Ainslie Park.

The 19-year-old forward produced a deft chip to add a fifth of the afternoon and seal all three points for his side.

Lewis Budinauckas – Stranraer

Lewis continued his run between the posts as Stranraer fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Elgin City.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper has been a regular fixture in the Blues squad since joining the club on loan, underlining his quality and authority in his position.

Jacob Pazikas – Civil Service Strollers

Jacob and Civil Service Strollers were not in action this weekend as their clash against Gretna 2008 was postponed.

The Edinburgh side return to league duty with a home clash against Tranent Juniors this weekend.

Kristian Webster – Cumbernauld Colts

Kristian started and played the full 90 minutes as Cumbernauld Colts played out a 2-2 draw at the home of Tranent Juniors.

It’s a quick turnaround for the 19-year-old as the Lanarkshire side face Albion Rovers in a return to league action this evening.

Megan Bell – Hearts

Megan started and played the entirety of the contest as Hearts fell to a 2-0 home defeat to Glasgow City in the SWPL in their first post-split fixture.

The Jambos are not back in action until March 31 when they travel to face Partick Thistle with the Northern Ireland international hopeful of being involved.

Jenna Ferguson – Partick Thistle

The youngster started and played 90 minutes as Partick Thistle fell to a 2-0 away defeat to Hibs in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

Brian Graham’s side will take on Rangers in the Sky Sports Cup final this weekend with the defender unable to feature against her parent club.

Megan Cunningham – Partick Thistle

Megan also started in the defeat in the SWPL as she continues to add to her appearances whilst on loan this season.

The shot stopper is also ineligible to play in the final, but she will be hopeful of returning to the side when they next in league action next weekend.

Kayla Jardine – Motherwell

Kayla enjoyed an impressive afternoon’s work as she provided two assists in Motherwell’s SWPL win over Hamilton.

Her side claimed a 4-0 success with the winger setting up the last two goals as she continued her good run of form.

Laura Berry – Motherwell

Laura didn’t feature in the win as she was on international duty representing Scotland Under-17s in their most recent matches.

She will be available to play in Motherwell’s next outing when they take on Aberdeen on March 31.

Summer Laird – Spartans

Summer was in the starting lineup as Spartans suffered a 2-0 league defeat to Aberdeen.

The Edinburgh side will be looking to bounce back when they are next in action when they travel to face Dundee United next Sunday.

Mason Clark – Hamilton Academical

Mason started in the defeat to Motherwell in the Accies first post-split fixture on Sunday afternoon.

They will look to pick up a positive result when they are in next in action when make the trip north to face Montrose at Links Park.

Rebecca Taylor – Hamilton Academical

Rebecca didn’t feature in the contest due to injury. She has made several appearances for the Accies this season and will be targeting a return to the pitch in the near future.

Lucy Inman – Queen’s Park

Lucy was an unused substitute as Queen’s Park claimed a 2-1 away win over Boroughmuir Thistle in league action.

The Spiders currently sit top of SWPL 2 and are next in action on March 31 when they face Gartcairn.
