RANGERS have a number of players out on loan across the Women’s side at present and here’s our review of how each of those fared over the weekend.
Sophie Black – Midfielder- Motherwell
Having been ineligible to feature against her parent club in last weekend’s clash, Sophie was back in from the off to make an immediate impact as Motherwell claimed their first points of the season.
The young midfielder was on hand to fire home the crucial equaliser and set her side on their way to a 4-1 win over Hamilton at K-Parkin league action to lift them to eighth in the table.

Lily Boyce – Midfielder- Motherwell
Lily wasn’t involved in the matchday squad as last season’s sixth place finishers got off the mark for the season in the SWPL.
Having spent the second half of the last campaign on loan at Queen’s Park, the midfielder will be hopeful of further involvement for her new club in the outings to come.

Sophie Townsley – Striker – Hamilton
Sophie was back in the starting XI for the Accies having been an unused substitute in their last outing.
They fell to the defeat in East Kilbride after going in front, as they look to battle against the drop having just been promoted from SWPL 2 this campaign.

Lucy Livie – Winger- Boroughmuir Thistle
Lucy made her debut for her new club having joined on loan this summer as they exited the Sky Sports Cup at the hands of Gartcairn.
A single goal was the difference as the Airdrie club progressed to the second round of the competition.

Rebecca Simpson – Defender- Gartcairn
Rebecca was an unused substitute as Gartcairn put their league duties on hold as their Sky Sports Cup campaign got underway.
An extra time goal split the two teams at Meadowbank Stadium in a 1-0 win, with the side setting up a second round clash with Queen’s Park as a result.

Alba Stewart – Midfielder- Gartcairn
Alba was introduced from the substitutes bench as her side left it late to progress in the first cup competition of the season.
Their respective league campaign will recommence against the Spider this weekend, with the midfielder hopeful of further gametime during the first loan spell of her career.
