LAURA BERRY has been named the PFA Scotland SWPL Young Player of the Year.
The 17-year-old was recognised for her efforts at last night’s awards ceremony, having enjoyed an impressive season in the top-flight featuring for both Motherwell and Rangers.
Starting the campaign with the Gers, she found the target on five occasions in the opening five league outings before making the temporary switch to Paul Brownlie’s side at the end of the September, having spent the second half of last season on loan at the fellow SWPL club.
She enjoyed another vastly productive temporary spell at K-Park, finding the target 11 times before signing a new three-year contract in December and being recalled by the Gers on deadline day earlier this year for the run-in. Notably playing a starring role in the comeback draw against Hearts in March and featuring in several matches including both Ibrox games as she attempts to help the team win further silverware with what remains of the season.
