The youngster, who is currently on a season-long loan with fellow SWPL club Motherwell, has committed her long-term future to the Light Blues and will see her remain at the club until the summer of 2028.
A product of the club’s youth academy, Laura signed her first professional deal in the summer of 2023 alongside Mia McAulay, having made her breakthrough to the first team at the end of the previous campaign, progressing through the ranks winning the league title at youth level for the Gers at both U16 and U18s.
The youngster has been a member of the first team setup in the previous two seasons, predominately spending them on loan, netting her first goal in professional football for the Gers on the opening day of the 2023/24 season, finding the scoresheet in a 6-1 win over Spartans.
The 17-year-old has also enjoyed a successful youth career in international football to date, representing Scotland up to Under-19’s level, enjoying an impressive most recent camp in which she scored on five occasions as the young Scots booked their place in the Round Two of qualifying for next summer’s Under-19 European Championships.
Whilst spending an impressive second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Motherwell, in which she scored nine goals in 12 appearances, she also became the youngest player to claim the league player of the month award in April.
She joined back up with Jo Potter’s side for pre-season at the start of the current campaign, and also netted in league outings against both Aberdeen and Dundee United as well as gaining valuable Champions League experience in the qualifiers, where the Gers faced off against European giants Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
After re-joining Paul Brownlie’s side for the remainer of the season in September, the youngster has netted eight goals as well as claiming five assists in 11 outings so far whilst also being named SWF Youth Player of the Year at the recent awards night, as she will now look to continue her positive development before joining back up with the Gers next summer.
Speaking after putting pen to paper on a new deal, Berry commented: “I am delighted, there is no place I would rather be than the biggest club in Scotland so I am really excited to extend my contract.
“Talks with Jo and Donald? They just said that they have really enjoyed seeing me progress over the last year and they really see a future for me at the club, so I was delighted to hear that.”
