The Gers put themselves right back in the title picture with a 1-0 Old Firm derby success at the weekend, where they now sit three points off the summit with two fixtures remaining.
Speaking to the official club website to preview their penultimate SWPL clash of the season against Hearts this evening, she commented: “That was my first start in an Old Firm and I was happy to play a part in that.
“I was looking up at some of the girls that weren’t in the squad just giving the team a bit more encouragement but that is how together this group is and you want to work for each other.
“When you have got those characteristics amongst yourselves then you are on to winning ways so we need to just keep going with that and look forward to the next one now.
“A big final league week? I think we have to thrive off it, especially this point of the season now it is not long until the end and you have to make the most of every part.
“We got together after the Glasgow City game and it was sink or swim and we are choosing swim. We are looking forward to the next game.”
The Northern Ireland international has reflected on the team’s success in their victory three days ago, praising the performance overall in which she was part of the backline to keep a crucial clean sheet at New Douglas Park.
She continued: “We know that in the last game, we wanted to get the three points.
“This was a massive game for us, obviously against Celtic is always a big game regardless.
“I think we started the game really well, probably played a lot more fluid football.
“Second half 1-0 up they kind of changed a little bit and tried to be a bit more front-footed, but I think we stuck on the line and we were winning first and second balls.
“Overall a dominant performance and to come out with the three points was really pleasing.
“The thing is you know good teams are always going to have to adapt.
“If they are 1-0 behind they are going to change things and you have to almost recognise what that is early and try and beat it and play our game and see what we are going to have to do differently.
“That’s the thing physically we showed a lot of character on Sunday, bodies on the line.
“A really good save from Jenna, winning first and second balls because it started to get a bit stretched so it was just dealing with that when we had to and obviously managing the game until the final whistle.
“They obviously stuck a lot more attackers on the pitch and were going a lot more direct but there weren't really any moments for me where I felt that we were vulnerable.
“They had maybe one change that I thought we let that slip a little bit but then you have to reset as quickly as possible back in possession and play our game and manage that the way that we did.
“Overall, really happy with the performance and it is a massive one for us leading us into the next big game against Hearts.”
The centre-back insists the Light Blues will be more than ready for their midweek clash at the Oriam tonight, with fixtures against both capital clubs to come to round off the league campaign and the destiny of the title still to be decided.
She added: “We have got a really professional team we have got girls that do the extra bits to make sure that we put our best foot forward.
“When it is such a short turnaround, we have got the staff that give you so much detail and players that take it on board.
“It's not a stranger to us, the three-game week, obviously it is a really important three games this week but it is one that we look forward to.”
