Gers are still in with a chance of lifting the title, but would need to win their match and see Hearts defeated in the Edinburgh derby to come out on top.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s press conference, the head coach wants her side to play with freedom as they look to end the season with a victory.
Crichton said: “Sunday is about one last game, three points and an opportunity and that is what the players need to embrace. It will be different because we understand what that looks like when the scorelines might change but ultimately nothing matters if we don't win the game.
“We are really pleased with the fact we have managed to secure European football, I think that for us was huge, based on the start that we had in the season. We knew it was always going to be a bit of an uphill battle to get us into a position that we were able to compete, and a position we felt we could win so I think we have done really well in our own work and we are really pleased with the work we have managed to do since the tail end of last year.
“There have been a few results that have been frustrating but ultimately, we have had a really strong finish to the season and that is the way we are looking at Sunday. We won't look anywhere else, and I know people will be desperate for us to be focused on the possibilities of their being a shift in the title race, but it would be really disrespectful to Hearts.
“It is very much about us winning the game, if we don't win the game, it doesn't matter what happens anywhere else, we are delighted that we are there, and we have got this opportunity, but we are firmly focused on three points.”
With a place already secured in next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers, Crichton says there has been a good feeling around the training centre this week in preparation for the fixture.
The head coach has an almost a fully fit squad and faces some difficult decisions ahead of Sunday. She continued: “We have got European football secured, it is brilliant for a group that is as young as we have been this season, with the turnover in the last 12 months.
“It is something we can look forward to, plan and prepare for pre-season knowing that we have got that. It has allowed us to speed up the process in terms of the transfer market and looking ahead to strengthen the group ahead of next season. It has been enjoyable and we'll wait and see what happens come Sunday.
“The players are super relaxed, the buzz around the building this week has been excellent.
“We have had a couple of knocks throughout the week, but nothing significant other than Laura Rafferty, who we have disclosed is a slightly longer-term one for us.
“Sarah Ewens has been back on the pitch full training for the last number of weeks, so she'll hopefully be fit and available before the season is out, whether this weekend comes a little bit too soon or not and other than that the group is really competitive.
“The most difficult bit of my job come Sunday is that there will be players who won't be in the squad and that will be through decision making and that again is a credit to the whole staff group at Rangers and the playing squad that we are at this stage of the season and we have managed to come through it eventually to a point that there will be disappointment among the group.”
When asked about the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League title going down to the final day once again, Crichton added: “I think it is excellent in terms of the product, I think it shows the level of investment and how well invested the game has been to a point you have got at least into the last number of weeks of the season with three or four teams who have been there or there about in terms of chasing the title.
“Sunday comes down to two teams which has been the bare minimum over the last number of years, I think for a spectacle it is really interesting and it's exciting.”
