Rangers host their city rivals under the lights at Ibrox in two days time, with the team seeking their second success in the fixture this season.
Speaking to RangersTV to preview the league clash, the Head Coach commented: “It is a brilliant opportunity, I think, for me, any Friday night game always feels better.
“I don't know why, rather than a Sunday afternoon, I don't know if it is just the evening fixture under the lights.
"The fact that you know more often than not, more people will come out to the game. I think it is more fan-friendly in terms of the kick-off being a Friday night rather than a family Sunday afternoon.
“They thrive on it, I know people go on about Ibrox and at times it has not been kind in terms of the results, and it has not gone the way that we would have wanted and that has been the same this season on a couple of occasions, but I think performances have been there.
“Certainly, there have been so many positives, I don't think you can complain or be frustrated at playing at Ibrox.
“The arena that it is, the quality of the surface, everything that it gives us in terms of the preparation, the pre-match experience before that.
“Coupled with the fan experience and the game throughout. Hopefully, we can maximise that; there is no difference in terms of our preparations in where we have been this season.
“We are working with the group that we have got, they are really excited for the fixture.
“You tee it up on a Friday night, they can then enjoy a couple of days off, hopefully off the back of it and then we continue with one more fixture before the international break. There is always something on the horizon, but we are really excited for it.”
The Light Blues were successful in the reverse fixture back in September in a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Mia McAulay and Eilidh Austin. The former Scotland international is hopeful the team can use the good experiences of that day as she looks ahead to her first home derby in the dugout.
She continued: “Not that I would downplay the fixture because it is so important. Not just to us, but I think in Glasgow and to both teams, it is one that you really want to win.
“I totally get that, so for us, the objective will be that we prepare and look to try to win the game.
“I will try and enjoy it for as much as I possibly can, but I do seem to be able to switch off to the hype around it and the build-up to it.
“It will be a hectic week, but no doubt by the time the game comes round, that will actually be 90 minutes that I can just find a focus and fully think about the game and the players and what we expect from them.
“You love the fact that it is in the diary. I really enjoyed the experience earlier on in the season and was even more delighted with our performance that day and the result, so hopefully we can go and replicate that.”
Rangers have had a mixed bag of results during their SPWPL campaign so far, but Crichton stressed the eagerness amongst the ranks to earn a positive result come Friday night as the team looks to achieve success this season.
She added: “The league is what it is, and we know how difficult it is to go and win the SWPL. It has been proven over the last number of years, and at points teams look like they are out of that title race.
“Even down to the last five or six games of the season, there have been teams that have been out in front, Rangers being one of them in years gone by, and it has still come down to the last day of the season.
“We are under no illusions that we don't want to lose too much ground, and we want to try and remain on the coattails of the teams that are in front just now and are leading the way.
I still feel that we are in a position to do that with the league, albeit results have been far from perfect, but we know what we need to do, and we look at ourselves to do that.
“We don't need to look at other people to do us favours, we know it is about Rangers and our standards, performances and outcomes.
“When you look at the cup campaigns over the last number of years, the club have taken so much from that.
“There have been so many positives, there is nothing more rewarding as a player and staff member to go and lift silverware. That is the determination, that is what will drive us.
“It is great that we are still in the competition. We were really pleased on Sunday, being so stretched and at the point of the season that we are, that we have been able to progress and to do that with a bit of comfort was really good, for now it will be game by game.”
