A goal in each half sent Rangers into the international break on a high after a 2-0 home win over Montrose, as they now await their post-split fate upon their return in three weeks’ time.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on the victory in Cumbernauld, she commented: “First and foremost I am pleased again with the three points and the clean sheet. It is the type of game that you know has got the potential to be a sticky one and a tough opponent, really physical and hard to beat.
“The reason why they had something to play for today coming here and looking to try and take something from that and that push for the top-six.
“We were fully aware of how that could go, I think the conditions in the first half especially played a huge part in the kind of rhythm of the game and the way that we wanted to move the ball.
“I probably felt that we just got too caught up in the conditions and it became a little bit frantic.
“I think when you score as early on in the game that the last number of weeks we have kicked on and we have added to that quite quickly, where all of a sudden you have got real comfort in the game.
“Real good chances that we are frustrated that we have not added to that, but first and foremost it was about the three points and the group again and being able to use different personnel and utilise the squad I think is the most important thing.
On a day her team had to work to get over the line, she highlighted an improved second half display to help continue their impressive run of late.
She continued: “Patience is probably the word and I said that at half time, we lacked that in the first half.
“We lacked patience, we didn't move the ball as well as we could. We were forcing it far too much. Trying to look for that killer pass when you can just have an easier shorter pass and keep the game moving, but they have been so good.
“The group have been so good since the turn of the year so it is easy to pick fault in the things that we can do better and I have said that over the last number of weeks even in the games we have been far more dominant and much more comfortable in terms of the goal deficit.
“This afternoon again a different type of performance required, changes in the team as well for different reasons this week just with the way it has gone.
“Katie Wilkinson doesn't start the game just because her week had been fractured in terms of training time.
“Having to leave players out the squad this afternoon which is the first time that we have had to do that without it being because of injury, which again shows you where the strength and depth of the group is.
“I can sit tonight and look at the bigger picture and how far we have come this season and we are just delighted that we can dust ourselves down.
“Rest, regroup and recharge now and we look forward to the fixtures coming out to see what the hand will be like that we will be dealt for the post-split fixtures and where the season will go.”
The Gers now head into the extended break well placed to in what looks set to be an exciting run towards the end of the season, with Crichton giving an insight on how that period will look for her squad.
She added: “We have dealt with the fixtures at the start of the year in terms of the cup competitions. We have managed to get ourselves within five points at the top of the table, sitting in second going into the break which is really pleasing as well.
“We have got the cup final in March to look forward too and a cup semi-final in May. If you had asked us that probably in January would we have taken that, absolutely we would have.
“It is now about looking at the picture going forward and the games and how that presents itself. We know how tough it is with those games and obviously after the international break it’s a three-game week right away, we need to be ready for that.
“We hope the internationals that are going away can go and represent their countries really well.
“Come back fit and well and we'll look after the ones that remain with us and look to recharge them and recuperate them and we'll be good to go.”
