Rangers headed into the extended period away from club football in fine form, unbeaten in their last 11 outings, including 10 wins during that time.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on the past few weeks and the club being so well represented across several nations during the break, she commented: “I am really pleased, thinking back to the last international break and the Christmas break I probably felt then that the momentum was really good and we were getting to a level that I didn't really want the break to come in all honesty.
“I feel a little bit like that just now because I feel we have gone and matched and probably surpassed our own expectations and levels of performance over the last number of weeks and months.
“I think we have been pretty spot on coming out of the back of that and the turn of the year.
“You can see the depth in the squad and how strong we are now at this point, which is just for everybody, so rewarding.
“This break is probably a little bit more welcomed, and I think we can enjoy it in the sense that we come through a really tough and challenging period, and we can now look ahead and be really positive about the post-split fixtures after the break.
“The team is still really young, as much as we have got really good experience in the group.
“On average, we feel the team, at times, the average age is 23 or 24, most weeks.
“I think with that, you need to appreciate that consistency is going to be the most difficult thing to try and achieve, but I think we have done that really well of late.
“The performance levels have been good; we have managed to find a way to be super ruthless.
“Certainly in the attacking third of the pitch, and you have seen that with some recent results.
“Ultimately, we know most weeks it is about three points, and it is about trying to make sure that we keep on the coattails.
“We are chasing the league title, we understand that. We have been comfortable with that being the task for so long now, but heading into the break, we have managed to get a little bit closer, which is a real incentive for us.”
The Light Blues have 16 players among their ranks away at present, with the former Scotland international hopeful that they can all perform and give an insight into how this period will look for those who remain with the group.
She added: “It is fabulous, thinking back to my time as an international player, you love it.
“It's different to your domestic football, it is different to the day-to-day.
“There are so many competitive matches rather than friendlies now, which is different from the last four or five years in the game.
“The only bit with that is you wish the players well, but you need to cross your fingers and toes and hope that they come through that unscathed.
“Then they come back ready and hungry to go and compete because ultimately we need to hit the ground running.
“You can feel frustrated as a non-international if you like, the players that remain for one reason or another.
“At times, that is nice because you get a little bit more contact time with them, the sessions are a bit more lowkey, albeit still a level of intensity and performance.
“We managed to change the session today, and obviously next week, a bit more in-house games, and we brought a lot of our academy prospects in and our pre-pro players that are out on loan.
“It is an opportunity to bring that and knit it all together and allow them a little bit more exposure with the first-team players.
“Certainly, at this time of the year, you don't really get that opportunity unless it is during an international window.
“The ones that are here will obviously get an extra couple of days to get back home, wherever they come from and see friends and family and just switch off.
“You don't get that many days in the calendar year as a footballer to do that.
“They will have their training programmes and whatnot, and they can switch off, and that allows you to rejuvenate and certainly recharge and shift the focus certainly for a couple of days, and you always feel the buzz.
“I always think once so many players have been off internationally, it is almost like you realise what you have got and how much you miss it when you bring it all back together.
“I have no doubt when the players come back, and ideally we have then got an extra couple of days for what will be the first three-game week of the post-split fixtures.
“There will be a real good bit of time to get back on the training pitch and bring everybody and their energy, and we will be raring to go.”
