The young Gers last night played out a 2-2 draw with Stirling Albion, a division below the Warriors, thanks to a brace from Alex Lowry.
Grant lined up alongside captain Kristian Webster in defence and says his side must brush up on the small details should they wish to get the better of Stenhousemuir in six days’ time.
Speaking to RangersTV after last night’s contest, the 18-year-old commented: “It was a good game and a challenge, but I think in the end it’s the small details which matter the most.
“We lost goals that we shouldn’t be losing, and it’s frustrating because I thought we were dominant overall. It was a good challenge going into next week’s game.
“It was a similar type of opposition in the way that they wanted to play, and it was against men. I think they may be a level up next week, so we need to make sure we tidy up.
“It’s a competitive game and everyone is looking forward to it. There will be a good turnout, we’re at home, so it should be a good one.”
Rangers fell behind twice in the contest, but they rallied through goals from Lowry and were unfortunate not to turn the game on its head before full-time.
Grant believes it was a worthwhile challenge ahead of next week’s clash at Forthbank Stadium.
He added: “The first goal, and we’ve had a look back at half-time, is actually offside. It’s frustrating, and the second goal is about the initial reaction, they break on us, and we don’t track our men into the penalty box.
“We need to tidy up these little details ahead of next week.
“The message was to keep doing what we were doing; we were creating enough chances and it was just at the end.
“It was all positive and we wanted to keep playing forward, be aggressive, and win second balls.”
