The young Gers are in quarter-final action tomorrow afternoon as they take on Hearts Under-18s at the Rangers Training Centre as Stevie Smith’s side target a deep run in the historic competition once again.
Speaking to the official club website ahead of the cup tie, the defender commented: “I am very excited for tomorrow.
“I think it will be a great opportunity to go hopefully advance through this quarter-final and hopefully go on to win it, like we have twice out the last three times.
“Stevie recognises himself that it will be a tough game. They have got good players but there is a lot of areas to exploit, if we go and turn up we can beat anyone on our day.
“There is no doubt that they're a good side. We have done our analysis on them, we know what they are going to bring, I think it will be a good challenge. It is one of the tougher games in the league, I am excited for it.”
The 17-year-old feels the team can take parts out of the successes they have had in the competition so far but knows the challenge they face on Friday will be different.
He continued: “I think it does give you some degree of confidence. Every match is different, Fraserburgh was a completely different match to St Andrews.
“This game tomorrow will be completely different to the ones before. It does give you some sort of confidence, as long as your preparation is right and you do everything well up to that point, there is nothing stopping you from being confident.”
The centre-back will be playing his final year at this age group and wants to use last year’s cup final defeat to bow out on a high.
He added: “It is almost great motivation, there was a lot of disappointment last year after the final. We had brilliant chances, we could have went on to win it.
“It was just slack moments that let us down but obviously this is the final year of being able to play in it. I have just got to use that as motivation.
“Looking at the competition there is a lot of unexpected teams in it. I think probably being the biggest team left there is a bit of pressure, but I enjoy it and embrace.”
