Philippe Clement's men scored twice against Benfica in Portugal last Thursday to mean the tie is evenly matched at 2-2 before this week's game.
Tom Lawrence was on hand to head home from a Mohamed Diomande cross inside the seventh minute at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, before the Gers were pegged back through a Di Maria penalty in additional time in the first half.
However, the Gers were straight back up the pitch and in the fifth minute of additional time in the first half, Dujon Sterling was there to put the Light Blues in front as he ghosted into the box unmarked to score his first ever professional goal.
A second half goal by Benfica brought the tie level and Clement's men put in a battling performance to see out the match all square ahead of this week.
