The Light Blues round off a busy six days with a visit of Dundee tomorrow afternoon before a trip to face Real Betis and the Viaplay Cup final to follow.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference ahead of the Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox tomorrow, the midfielder says delivering a second win in three days is at the forefront of their minds.
He said: “It is a big week and it is going to be a test, a massive test tomorrow in a different way. A home game against Dundee, one that we have got to get over the line, get the three points and then obviously we can move on to two massive games after that.
“Obviously first and foremost got to get past a big test tomorrow and that is our sole focus at the minute then we can move on from there.”
“I think we have got to have a good foundation tomorrow and then going forward we can go and give it a right go in Betis and then there is a cup final to play for. It is a real exciting week for everyone involved and I am sure everyone in the dressing room wants to play as well”
The 29-year-old has reflected on the midweek win in the capital against Hearts and feels winning in a different way helps build that togetherness within the squad.
He continued: “I quite enjoyed it to be honest. I thought we didn't play our best game but I thought the grit and determination shone through.
“To go to Hearts it is not an easy place, we have been to Hearts before over the years, played well and not got points. We have been to other grounds, went to Aberdeen away and dominated the game for 75 minutes completely and didn't get the result we wanted.
“I enjoyed it in a different type of way, it wasn’t free-flowing football. We made wrong decisions at times but I loved the grit and the togetherness we showed.”
“Every type of win like that just builds and builds that togetherness. It is not a bad sign to win when you are not playing great so long may that continue.”
The Englishman has played every minute under manager Philippe Clement to date and says he is ‘loving’ his football at the moment having enjoyed his run in the side so far.
He added: “I love it, I just love playing games. I wouldn't want it any other way, I have never really been a fan of the rotation personally. I know a lot of managers do like that, but personally myself I would rather if I am chosen I am chosen.
“Some managers like to say you can have a rest this week, I have not really ever been a fan of that. I am loving my time under the new manager and thankfully he has been picking me.”
