The midfielder says it is ‘hugely important’ the Light Blues can put in a performance in the first-leg of the third round qualifier at Ibrox, before heading to Geneva next week.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s press conference, Lundstram said: “The European nights are massive for Rangers, so hopefully the fans can give us another big night tomorrow and we can back it up with a performance.
“We need to give them something to sing about of course, so hopefully we can start fast, on the front foot, lift them off their seats early doors and make it another special night.
“Getting into the Champions League for the club is massive and it is also massive for us as players. It is one you dream of as a kid to play in such a big competition, so they are huge games for us and hugely important for us to try and put in a good performance.”
When asked about Servette, Lundstram knows the squad face a tough test but says they are looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead over these next two matches.
He continued: “We have analysed them, and I am looking forward to it. It has been similar to what we do with most teams, just clips here and there of their strengths and weaknesses.
“They are a high energy team. They like to press and play forward quickly so we will hopefully try and exploit their weaknesses which I am sure they will be trying to do to us too.
“They did really well to come through that tie against Genk, especially in the second game with 10 men, so we are fully aware of the challenge, their resilience, the team spirit that they have and their quality in possession.
“We go into every game to win, of course, we are Rangers, that is what we do in every single game we play so it is a similar mentality to what we always have. We play teams to win and that is the way. All I know is we are going to try and get a good result for our fans and for ourselves and put us in a good place for next week.”
Lundstram has been impressed with the nine summer signings and is confident they can click as a squad heading into an important month of fixtures.
He continued: “The gaffer has brought in top quality players, and they have all played in huge games themselves so I don't think it needs a pep talk from me to tell one or two of them that these are big games - I think they know.
“There's no recipe for success overnight, we've had one game and ok we lost, but going forward I have got no doubt it will click, and we will gel definitely.
“We lost some big characters in the dressing room so for the new lads to come in and be the way they have been, they have been great, so hopefully they settle quickly and start getting some goals and assists for us.
“It is hard to join a new club for anybody and to hit the ground running straight away so if the lads can do that great, but at the same time we need to start quickly because we have got important games so going in to tomorrow let's hope it clicks and we can get a few goals.”
