The Gers take on Cumbernauld Colts at Dumbarton Stadium at Saturday midday looking to bounce back from their defeat at Berwick Rangers in their previous outing.
The match has been rescheduled for a noon kick off which will allow supporters to attend both Rangers matches in one day with the first-team welcoming Kilmarnock to Ibrox at 3pm, and the midfielder is hopeful they can react in the right way and produce a positive display.
He said: “It is very important to put on a good display, especially for the fans. There was a few that travelled down to Berwick last weekend and obviously we didn't put anything on for them there.
The 19-year-old is expecting a tough challenge against the side currently sitting in 14th place in the table, but he is hoping that the team can replicate the clinical edge they showed in front of goal having won the reverse fixture 6-3 back in July.
He continued: “I’m expecting a tough game, Cumbernauld are always energetic and get in your face. I am expecting that but, if we play well, I think it could be a good game for us.
“I am hoping we are clinical again like last time, it is always good to get on the scoresheet as well, hopefully that can happen again and the team can get some more goals.”
Lyall has stressed the importance of putting on a performance and says the side will learn from the experience of last weekend’s result.
He added: “It is important that we learn from it moving forward, when the pitch and weather isn't quite good and we can't quite use our technical ability as much. We need to start learning on how to use other things, use our physical ability and I thought at the weekend we got shown how to do that really and we took a sore one.
“It is not that we can just forget about it, it is just about learning from our mistakes quickly and work on what we have did wrong. That is always the case if we get beat or when we haven't put in a great performance. We have done that and we have been working on it since. At this club it is always so important to win games. You have got to win games, obviously we didn't do that at the weekend so it is very important that we do that on Saturday.”
