The winger was on the scoresheet as the Young Gers were edged out by Liverpool 4-3 at Firhill despite a spirited second half comeback.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after the game, the 19-year-old says belief is still coursing through the Rangers dressing room: “It's disappointing. I thought we were very dominant in the second half, not so much in the first half. We've scored three goals and ended up losing the game 4-3. When you score that many, you can't go and concede four. The spirit and the quality was very good [in the second half]. One lapse of concentration and they get the goal, which means the game is done.
“There's still six points to play for. We win those and we put ourselves in a really good position to finish second place in the group which would put us into the next stage of this competition. We'll get back on the training pitch and just keep going. We'll take the good things out of the game today and we'll work on the things we've done not so well, taking it into the game against Napoli and the game against Ajax after that.”
Lyall combined neatly with Zak Lovelace to score Rangers’ second of the game, and the 19-year-old praised his relationship with the Englishman both on and off the pitch.
He continued: "It's good to have confidence. If you keep that going, it's great. Obviously I got a goal today so I'm happy with that.
"Me and Zak have a good connection on the pitch. I speak with him a lot off the pitch. He's still quite young but he's very smart in football terms. We link up quite well.”
