It was Celtic who took the lead at Excelsior Stadium through Caitlin Hayes, but an inspired second-half display from Jo Potter’s side saw Maclean level the tie with a neat finish, before Rio Hardy headed home the winner with less than 10 minutes of the match remaining.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Maclean said: “It was a really good game, I think first-half we weren’t quite ourselves but in the second-half when we went 1-0 down we got a spark about us and we came back from it.
“It shows how strong we are as a team that if we go behind, we are capable of coming back from it and the determination we showed to do that was very good.
“We had a good conversation at half-time. Jo said she needed more from us, and we showed that in the second-half, we came together and got the win.”
The 18-year-old was playing a slightly more attacking role later in the game and enjoyed linking up with Kirsty Howat and Rio Hardy.
She continued: “All the midfielders we have got in our group are all capable of playing in every position and I think myself, Kirsty and Rio all linked up today, so it worked well.
“We wanted to make sure we headed into the international break on a high, so it just builds momentum for when we are back.”
