Thomson admitted Gers struggled to find their rhythm at times but said another three points was the most important thing as they made it three wins out of three since the return of the league.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, he said: “It was a good three points, that is the objective in every game to win so whether you win by one goal or by two or three it makes no difference to us and we are really happy.
“We did play well in spells but we never really got into a good rhythm where we got on top and managed to get that luxury of getting two or three goals which would’ve put us in a bit more of a relaxed state.
“Credit to Hibs and the way they defended which didn't really allow us to get that speed of play and rhythm going.”
Just two minutes into the second-half Brogan Hay whipped a dangerous ball into the box which was fired home by Lizzie Arnot for her ninth goal of the season.
Thomson added: “We started the second-half really well and it was a fantastically worked goal, never mind the finish which was good by Lizzie.
“Brogan has been doing well and she has been really effective when she has been coming on. Unfortunately, Zoe Ness picked up an injury in Saturday's training session so we had to rejig a wee bit but it gave Brogan an opportunity to come in and I thought it was a great contribution again and she can hurt a team in that area.
“We have got confidence in the team and they understand each other. I think we have set the bar so high that probably we are a wee bit disappointed that we never got our rhythm going in that game today.”
Rangers are back in SWPL action on Sunday night as they face Celtic in the second Old Firm Derby of the season.
Thomson added: “We will recover and we will go and assess how the players are individually and then we will look at the Celtic game and we will approach that game and be ready for Wednesday evening.”
