A dominant Rangers performance saw them score six goals against their fellow SWPL side to set-up a semi-final against Motherwell at Hampden next month.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Thomson said: “I think it is a great achievement, the girls were fully prepared going into the game and we spoke about us being in control before the game. From the start to the finish, we were in total control and what is pleasing is we have managed to score six goals.
“We've got a hunger within the squad, we want to do well and we want to win every single game that we play in. Today in the cup it was important we gave ourselves the opportunity to get through to the next stage.
“They really had an intent to go and finish the job off and I think that has been something we have lacked in previous games where we were in control and we have got a lead but really tonight they have managed to finish the job off and we put it well beyond Hibs.”
Captain Kathryn Hill returned to the backline this afternoon and also managed to get on the scoresheet, with Thomson delighted in the defensive unit as a whole.
He continued: “Kathy obviously came back in alongside Lisa [Martinez] and we know that they are strong in their defensive duties, and they are well rehearsed in how they play but credit has got to go to the full team in terms of the defensive unit.
“There weren't too many times that the ball got lost and we never had enough bodies around it, we managed to regain it quickly and create another chance.
“Full focus will now go onto Celtic game next week. We know the task in hand, we know what we have got to do and our preparation will start tomorrow for that.”
