Tessel Middag and Kayla McCoy became the latest signings as Gers gear up for the opening SWPL Cup group match against Queen’s Park on Sunday.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV Thomson said: “I think it is good, the two girls that come in have got vast experience in the women's game. Tessel Middag has got massive experience down south and abroad, but bringing that different culture to the club, the diversity and the one club that we are is important for the girls’ development and the clubs development. They’ll definitely add value to what we are about here in the programme.”
Rangers will welcome a crowd back to Rangers Training Centre for Sunday’s match, and Thomson says it is important they are ready for the challenge.
He added: “I think it will be a difficult game, I think we have to respect the opponents no matter who you play. It is 11 v 11 and on the day we must be prepared and go about our job properly.
“The girls came back very very fit and very eager to get going again and we have now started to put a lot of minutes into their legs, none more so than the game we played against Everton the past week there.
“Pre-season been varied in a sense that we have played different types of games where we have tested ourselves.”
Sunday’s match will kick-off at 4pm and tickets can be bought HERE.
