With a 1-0 lead at half-time, Thomson felt his side went out and ‘got the job done’ after the break.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “I think first and foremost getting the three points was the most important thing and is what we always look to do although I don't think we played anywhere near where we can play.
“The first-half performance was very scrappy and we never really controlled the ball or created any chances. I think it was 26 minutes before we even had a shot at goal which was disappointing but however, in the second-half we brought on some finishers and it gave it a real impetus.
“At half-time we were talking about not letting our emotions run away and controlling our emotions and getting the job done and getting the three points and that’s what we did.
“The introduction of Sam Kerr, Lizzie Arnot and Brogan Hay really made an impact, especially Sam. Sam gives us that real bit of spark and bit of energy that we lacked in the first-half.”
Bala Devi had to be taken off inside the opening 10 minutes and Thomson says she will be assessed in the morning.
He continued: “She took a blow to the knee, it is too early to assess the extent of the damage but we will get her in the training centre tomorrow morning and go from there.”
