Despite not playing a competitive match in three months, Rangers set the tempo early on and were five goals ahead at half-time.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, Thomson shared his delight at the performance, he said: “It is pleasing first and foremost to get on the pitch and to get the result but the performance is really pleasing not just the starting team but the team that finished.
“What was really good about it was our relentless attitude and our intent to go forward all the time and not just be happy and keep possession but to be purposeful with it, break lines, cause them real problems and to create chances.
“There's a hunger about them, every one of them that's here has got a passion and a desire to play for Rangers and that's what you need to play with a big club.”
With a strong squad available, Thomson was impressed with the impact and attitude shown by this afternoon’s substitutes.
“The girls have really bought into what being a professional is about so they understand that there's a pool of 19 players and not everybody will play every week.
“What is important is that way they approach training and that their attitude and application whether they are playing or not playing is top level.”
With the first game back under their belts, Thomson said the hard work will continue as they look to next week’s game against Spartans.
He added: “We will just prepare the same way and we will approach it in the same fashion. “We will go and look at Spartans and see what problems we think they will try to cause us and where we can exploit them and we'll put that into practise as well.”
