A double from Kayla McCoy and goals from Jane Ross and Janni Arnth helped the Gers continue their unbeaten run in the league.
Malky Thomson named five changes to his side from last weekend’s 6-1 victory over Partick Thistle with Megan Cunningham, Brianna Westrup, Sam Kerr, Jane Ross and Megan Bell coming into the starting XI.
Rangers lined-up at New Douglas Park with Megan Cunningham in goal and a back four of Demi Vance, Janni Arnth, Brianna Westrup and Nicola Docherty.
Sam Kerr, Tessel Middag and Jane Ross were in midfield, while Brogan Hay and Megan Bell provided the support for striker Kayla McCoy.
Rangers were dominating possession in the early stages of this fixture as they searched for an early breakthrough. Nicola Docherty curled a long-range effort just high of the target as the right-back pushed high into Hamilton’s half, before Brogan Hay’s dangerous cross was turned over the bar by Hamilton’s Georgie McTear.
With 20 minutes played Rangers came close to opening the scoring at New Douglas Park. A corner was swung into the box by Megan Bell which met captain Brianna Westrup at the back post but her header rattled off the crossbar before the danger was cleared by the hosts.
Rangers were beginning to find their rhythm in this SWPL clash and some well worked build-up play saw Jane Ross feed the ball into the path of Kayla McCoy. The striker kept her effort low and powerful but Jeni Currie pulled off a strong save to block the shot.
On the half-hour mark, Rangers did take the lead as Nicola Docherty whipped a ball into the box from the right which found Jane Ross. The Scotland international showed her composure to take a touch before lifting the ball over Currie and into the back of the net. Josi Giard tried a long-range effort for Hamilton shortly after as she won the ball back in the middle of the park and released a shot from distance but it drifted over the bar.
Rangers had a fantastic chance to double their lead before the break as Demi Vance picked out the run of Kayla McCoy but she couldn’t get a strong enough connection on the ball as Jeni Currie raced off her line and the ball was cleared.
However, it was 2-0 on the stroke of half-time as Brogan Hay found space on the right and whipped a fantastic ball into the box with McCoy on hand at the back post to head home. Tess Middag saw a low effort saved by Currie as the Light Blues continued to look to breakdown a defensive Hamilton.
Rangers increased their advantage on the hour mark as Kayla McCoy netted her second of the afternoon. It was a fantastic hit from Demi Vance as her looping shot looked to be heading for the back of the net but Currie managed to touch it onto the crossbar with McCoy on hand to turn home the rebound from close range.
Thomson made three changes to his side after the third goal with Ciara Grant, Zoe Ness and Lizzie Arnot coming on in place of Tessel Middag, Megan Bell and Kayla McCoy. Josi Giard tried another shot from distance for the hosts as they looked for a goal back in the game but it was held comfortably by Megan Cunningham before Megan Quigley’s strike was also held by Cunningham.
Shortly after, a good ball was played over the top for substitute Kirsty Howat as she lifted it over the goalkeeper but her shot took a deflection as it bounced just wide of the left-hand post.
The Light Blues added to their tally in the final 10 minutes of the match as Demi Vance again provided a good delivery from a corner which was headed home by Janni Arnth for her first Gers goal.
