First half goals from Ross McCausland, Alex Lowry and Tony Weston saw the Light Blues dominate the full 90 minutes of the game.
It was a unique experience for the young Gers today as they hosted the first Old Firm in the league campaign at Ibrox, with a number of home supporters backing them in the stands.
The B team boss made three changes to his squad following the last meeting in the Glasgow Cup a couple of weeks ago, with Jay Hogarth replacing Lewis Budinauckas in goals.
Adam Devine returned to the backline to join Robbie Fraser, Leon King, and Kyle McClelland.
Murray Miller, Alex Lowry, and Cole McKinnon were in the midfield with Tony Weston, Charlie McCann, and Ross McCausland up front for the Light Blues.
The squad started the game with apparent intent and a hunger to dominate the game from he referee’s first whistle, and the home support didn’t have long to wait for the opening what was to be a sensational first 45 minutes for the Gers.
With only fifteen seconds gone, Ross McCausland opened the scoring for the home side. The youngster made a fantastic and determined interception in the visitor's half before driving forward towards Oluwayemi in goal, he found some space before delivering a superb low effort into the bottom left of the net.
The young Gers were clearly in the mood as McCausland threatened the Celtic defence a few minutes later. He managed to weave his way through the backline and deliver a powerful shot towards the goal, but a deflection sent it wide of the net.
The visitors did find a couple of opportunities to push towards the Rangers goal, but the backline did well to intercept and defuse any threats.
It wasn’t long before the squad doubled their lead after Alex Lowry sent a ferocious effort into the back of the net on 15 minutes. Charlie McCann made an important interception within his own half to advance into the Celtic final third, he then managed to pick out Lowry who found some space a few yards from the edge of the box and struck the ball with power to hit the back of the net.
Less than a minute later, Tony Weston was close to netting the third for the B team after finding some space at the front post, he threaded a low ball past Oluwayemi but it was just wide of the back post.
On 22 minutes, however, Weston found the home side’s third of the afternoon after Robbie Fraser delivered a sensational threaded ball through the backline to meet the on running youngster. The Light Blue found himself one on one with the keeper before he calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.
Just before the end of the first half, Adam Devine nearly found the fourth for the Gers after great build-up play from McCann. The youngster found a small pocket of space to deliver the ball to Devine advancing down the right side into the box, he sent a low shot on his first touch, but it hit off the front post to deny another for McCallum’s side.
The B team started the second half positively and with momentum as they continued to pressurise Tommy McIntyre’s side. On 53 minutes, Devine looked to increase the score line as he drifted past some green shirts in the visitor’s half before sending a shot towards goal, but his effort was just wide of the post.
McCallum’s side did well as they continued to search for the fourth goal, creating a number of chances in the process.
Sub Kane Ritchie-Holser made an immediate impact after replacing Lowry on 75 minutes after he collected the ball in the Celtic half and did well to drive forward, he was close to getting a shot away in the box, but his effort was blocked.
Karamoko Dembele found himself in a dangerous position in the Rangers box, but before he could get a shot away, Cole McKinnon made an important interception to clear the danger to maintain the score.
The squad continued to control the game in the final stages of the match but still carried the momentum to threaten the backline. It was nearly four on 88 minutes after Adam Devine delivered a superb delivery across the face of the visitors’ goal but there was nobody to get on the end of the effort.

Additionally, former treble winning Captain and Rangers Hall of Fame inductee Barry Ferguson will be the Rangers Legends Captain.
To mark this incredible occasion, the Rangers Legends squad will wear a specially designed Rangers Legends kit that carries the name of every Rangers captain to lead the club.
