Four goals from Chris Geddes’ side saw the youngsters unable to pick up any points in the league campaign.
David McCallum named four changes to the squad following their last domestic game against Bonnyrigg Rose, with Aaron Cervantes replacing Lewis Budinauckas in goal.
Adam Devine and Johnly Yfeko stepped back into the backline alongside Robbie Fraser and Kyle McClelland.
Murray Miller, Arron Lyall, and Kane Ritchie-Hosler were in the midfield, with Tony Weston, Charlie McCann, and Ross McCausland up front for the Light Blues.
The youngsters started the game sprightly and were the first to threaten when Arron Lyall created a real chance of the game two minutes from kick-off. Charlie McCann threaded a superb through ball to an advancing Lyall, the youngster found some space to chip the ball towards the goal, but his effort was just wide of the back post.
The Light Blues continued to maintain the majority of possession as they kept threatening the home side’s backline and on five minutes, Kyle McClelland delivered a sensational ball from his own half to link up with an on running Robbie Fraser down the left side. Fraser was able to get a first touch to his cross, but unfortunately, the ball fell out of play for a goal kick.
Despite the early Rangers threat, the home side found a burst of energy and began to work their way back into the game with the Gers backline doing well to intercept and defuse any danger. However, James Stokes managed to break the deadlock on 19 minutes after he picked the ball up and pushed into the box before slotting the ball past Aaron Cervantes.
The Gers reacted immediately to try and close the deficit quickly, Ross McCausland made an excellent run with the ball into the Stirling Uni half and delivered a fantastic ball into the home side's box. Tony Weston was able to connect with his delivery at the back post, but it agonisingly rattled off the crossbar.
Chris Geddes’ side were able to double their lead after Conor Doan hit the back of the net on 26 minutes. Jason Jarvis crossed the ball in from the corner flag with Cervantes getting a good first save from the delivery, but Doan was able to get on the end of his block and guide the ball in from close range to make it two.
McCallum’s side maintained their levels to break into the home side's final third. On 37 minutes Ross McCausland nearly found one for his side after he sent a powerful strike towards the Stirling goal, but Ben Fry made a great save to deny the young Ranger.
Into the second half and the young Gers managed to pressurise the Stirling backline straight from the referee’s whistle and on 49 minutes Lyall threatened to pull one back after picking up a lovely delivery from Fraser on the left side. Lyall managed to get his shot away, but Fry made another great save to keep the score line the same.
Less than a minute later, the home side extended their lead to three after Scott McArthur netted for his team.
Rangers continued to create some decent opportunities with the Stirling defence holding fast to close down any threats.
The Light Blues were awarded a free-kick on 75 minutes and Charlie McCann sent a ferocious ball into the congested Stirling box to meet Cole McKinnon at the back post, but Fry made another crucial save to prevent a Rangers goal.
Tony Weston was denied by the home side’s keeper on 83 minutes after he got a shot away and into a congested penalty area, but the Fry was there again to block the effort.
As the game entered the closing minutes, Euan McGill made it four for Stirling and an afternoon to forget for the visitors.
