The sides met in December at Rangers Training Centre with the Gers running out 4-0 winners, but Maxwell knows it’ll different challenge this time around.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of the game, he said: “We played them before Christmas and they were good technically, they were really physical and they looked a decent side.
“We had a few first team guys playing that day but we are expecting more of the same from them especially with them being at home so it is going to be a really tough tie.
“I think it’ll be a tough game but we are looking forward to it.
“I thought we were really positive in the last game and hopefully we can take the clinical aspect into tomorrow evening. We created chances against them so hopefully if we can do the same we will take them again.”
The left-back says the Development Squad are looking for a reaction after recent defeats to Partick Thistle and Aberdeen.
He continued: “I thought since after Christmas the Aberdeen game was probably our best performance but the result obviously wasn’t what we wanted.
The 18-year-old says seeing fellow Academy players Nathan Patterson and Kai Kennedy on the bench for the first team on Sunday has given the whole squad a lift.
He continued: “Training has been really positive, obviously with Nathan and Kai being in the first team it has given everybody a lift and the guys have been really positive despite not getting the results in our last couple of games.
“Both of the boys have worked really hard and have got really good quality, we want to see them get more chances and everybody is pushing to be the next one that is getting on the bench or starting it does give us a lift for sure.”
