The B Team boss looked ahead to this weekend’s match against Chris Geddes’ side and emphasised that the Light Blues want to finish the season strongly in the remaining matches of the league campaign.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV ahead of the squad’s upcoming fixture, he said: “We’re just looking forward to getting back on the pitch, we know that it’s a good venue to go and play with a good pitch and environment to go and hopefully put on a performance that we expect.
“It’s been a different week in terms of the gap between the last game and the upcoming games, the guys are just desperate to get back on the pitch again.
“We don’t change how we play; we just have to create an awareness of certain things of the opposition but thereafter I think it’s about analysing the individual pitch sessions that we’ll do.
“Matchdays are the days where the lads can get challenged against the opposition, we want to make sure that bounce into this game in a positive step.
"We want to finish this season strongly; we know that Bonnyrigg have won the league, but we want to try and maximise how far we can go within the league.”
McCallum reflected on the young Gers' last game against Bonnyrigg Rose at Dumbarton last week and outlined how the squad will utilise key moments from that match moving forward in the remainder of the season.
He added: “We spent some time talking about the game against Bonnyrigg, at the time we knew that we started well in the first half and controlled most of the game and naturally the two goals that you lose there is disappointment and frustration, we probably didn’t play at the same speed that we did in the first half.
“These are the bits that sometimes happen, but we have to try and make sure that we limit it and get closer to how we were in the first half.
"They’re desperate to get going, this week has been a good week and spent a bit more time on the pitch looking at the individuals and not just the team unit.
“We analyse every aspect of the game, not just the areas that we felt we could’ve done better; we’ll always reinforce the message that we know when they’ve done well.
"Analysing the game is ongoing, analysing training is ongoing – it’s always just about making sure that the players are recognising where they’re doing well and the areas they need to get better at.
“It’s an ongoing scenario and we’ll do that with individuals and within the team as well. It’s just maximising opportunities and making sure that we keep learning.”
