Gers made it back-to-back away wins in the league thanks to a double from Lawrence Shankland, and McInnes praised the captain for his experience.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “I am pleased that we won, we stuck together, we showed a lot of character, and it was two great finishes from Lawrence.
“Particularly the second one, because after missing a really good chance you would expect him to slot away, it shows you the confidence of him, the composure and the experience just to keep his head and I thought his second finish was a brilliant finish.
“There were a lot of aspects of the game I enjoyed. I thought we scored a good goal, we played a lot of what we spoke about and then inexplicably we stopped playing those passes beyond, we stopped playing switches of play, we started running up cul-de-sacs and putting ourselves in bother.
“We gave Falkirk a bit of encouragement and the goal was poor from our point of view. We have got opportunities to deal with it and even at the death I still think we can stay calm.
“We are a young team in the main and we have got to learn as we go along but as long as we are winning games as we do I am confident that we will get more 90 minute performances.
“There was a lot of frustration at times but there's more pride in the fact that we have stuck together, come to a difficult venue, on a really difficult pitch and we have managed to come away with three points which is the most important thing.”
McInnes hopes his team can take confidence from another victory in the Scottish Premiership and believes the closing of the transfer window will help bring calmness to the group.
He added: “I thought the performance at Aberdeen was better than tonight, but we still got the same outcome with three points so from that point of view I am pleased.
“We have got to understand now with the window closing tomorrow everybody can stay calm.
“It's been a wee bit of an upheaval today with a lot of things going on and that is not ideal either in terms of team preparation but by the time we play at Ibrox on Saturday, the window is shut and we deal with what we have got.
“I do believe in the potential of the team, I believe there's a lot more to come from us and hopefully we can have more complete performances, more settled performances and more 90-minute performances that allow us to enjoy that game a bit more than we did.”
