With a 3-2 defeat in last week’s first-leg, the Scotland international knows it will be a difficult test at Benfica Campus but says she believes the squad can rise to the test.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, she said: "Benfica are a very good side and we could see that when we played them at Ibrox so we know we are in for a very tough game again but at the same time we are still in it so it is exciting. There are things we know we can work on so we want to try and play that way and see how that goes.
"As a club and a team we train really hard every week to play our game on a Sunday and to then be included in these kinds of competitions is what you dream to do and what you want to do. As a team we are very optimistic and we want to meet that challenge.
"I can't wait, we want to do as well as we can in the League and in cups but this is exciting too. It is one of the biggest competitions, it is something we really look forward to, we really want to get the result so we will try our best."
McLauchlan says Rangers will learn from last week’s game at Ibrox as they prepare for the second-leg.
She added: "We have got belief within ourselves, I believe in every one of the girls that goes out there that we are a good enough side to compete. We know their players, we know their strengths, they are a good side. It is not going to be an easy game but I have got every belief that we can go and try to get a result.
"We can raise our game from playing at Ibrox last week and we know certain areas we can improve on from that so I think we need to just go and put that on the pitch."
When asked about her relationship on the pitch with Brogan Hay, McLauchlan feels it is something the players have built on over the last few seasons. She continued: "We have played together for a number of years now and you start to build those relationships on the pitch. With Brogan she works hard and you know what you are going to get from her, she is a very talented player. I know the effort she gives and it is really good and to have that connection it really helps with the communication level."
