The goalkeeper came back in tonight for the ill Allan McGregor and made a big contribution with a fine stop in the first half.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: "It is a really positive result for us all said and done. We knew that this period of games was so important and the main thing was to get the three points every single time and that is what we have managed to do.
"We have had to come through two other really tough tests since we have come back and we have done it again tonight.
"It was always going to be difficult - everybody says it, but we mean it when we say it. Coming to these places at this time of year as well, luckily the conditions were good for us tonight and the pitch was good, but it is always a difficult test and we have come through it.
"We have got a clean sheet, three points and we will take that and go down the road happy." Tonight was McLaughlin’s first appearance since October, and he continued: "It is always great to get the game any time you get the chance to put the shirt on and represent this club is special.
"It means a lot to get back into the team and to help contribute to another win for the cause.
"Of course, when you have not been playing, you want to come in and impress and play well, but the last thing you want to do is make a mistake or have anything go against us where we drop points.
"Again, it was satisfying to have a fairly quiet night, get a clean sheet and get the win.
"[The victories are] going to build the confidence every single time. There is always going to be room to improve, we know that, and under a new manager and a new coaching staff trying to get their ideas across to the players that haven't worked with them before, there is lots of work to do, but in the meantime, you have to get the results.
"At a club like this, there is. no time to stop and to wait and to say we need time - it doesn't happen so we are really pleased we have been able to get through the games.
"Now we go back to Ibrox for a couple and we will be really confident going into those to get another two wins."
