THE January transfer window has officially shut with several new players entering the Rangers ranks of the past four weeks.
Closing on Monday evening, Head Coach Danny Röhl managed to strengthen his squad with four new additions in total, and we’ve pulled together a round-up of the team’s latest recruits.
Tochi Chukwuani
Rangers announced the signing of Danish midfielder Tochi Chukwuani on January 11, as he became the first signing of the Röhl era following the German’s appointment back in October.
Making the move from Austrian side Sturm Graz on an initial three-and-a-half year deal, he bolstered the Gers’ central midfield ranks with his strength and power on the ball.
A product of the FC Nordsjælland academy, he made his debut for the side at 16-years-old and became the sixth youngest player to feature in Danish Superliga history.
Chukwuani played alongside now club teammates Mohamed Diomande and Oliver Antman at the Danish outfit and boasted the honour of being the club’s youngest goalscorer in league history when he netted against eventual champions FC Midtjylland at the age of 17.
His development continued apace, joining Lyngby in the summer of 2022 and making over 50 appearances for the club.
The Danish midfielder impressed sufficiently for Sturm Graz to secure his signature ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, featuring over 30 times for the club as they lifted the league title and competed in the UEFA Champions League.
In the meantime, Chukwuani has represented Denmark from Under-16 to Under-21 level, captaining his country in their 2-2 draw with Finland at the Under-21 European Championships last summer.
He made his debut for the Gers in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup win over Annan Athletic as a second-half substitute, before he earned a first start in the 3-0 win over Dundee on January 25. He then made a third appearance for the club from the off in the weekend’s draw with Hibs in the capital.
Tuur Rommens
The full-back became the second addition of the winter window as he put pen to paper on a deal with the Gers three days later, signing from Belgian club Westerlo, managed by former Rangers coach Issame Charai.
Also signing on an initial three-and-a-half year deal, the defender will look to battle it out with fellow left-back Jayden Meghoma for a starting spot in the Light Blues’ side, providing healthy competition in the defensive areas for Röhl’s team.
Rommens made his senior debut for Genk in his homeland as an 18-year-old in 2021, after progressing through the youth ranks of the Belgian outfit.
He then made the switch to Westerlo in the summer of 2023, where he spent time as a youngster prior to joining the Genk academy, and made 24 appearances in his debut campaign.
The full-back’s importance to his side continued to rise, missing just two league fixtures across the whole of the following season as Westerlo only narrowly missed out on European qualification and being an ever-present in the team through the first half of the current campaign.
At international level, Rommens has been capped at all age groups for Belgium and featured against Scotland in Under-21 European Championship qualifying in both 2023 and 2024.
Yet to make his debut for his new club due to a recent injury, the defender is back training and making a return to full fitness as he looks to play his part in helping the Gers deliver success in the second half of the season.
Andreas Skov Olsen
Rangers announced the signing of Andreas Skov Olsen from Wfl Wolfsburg on a loan deal until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer on January 16.
The exciting winger, who has been linked with the club several times in the past, became the third signing of the window at the start of 2026 as the Gers boss strengthened his attacking options further.
A highly-rated Danish winger, 26, he has been capped 40 times for his country and arrived with over 200 senior appearances in European football under his belt.
Skov Olsen’s career began in the youth ranks of FC Nordsjælland, featuring in the Danish Superliga alongside Oliver Antman, where he netted over 20 times in 41 appearances.
His impressive performances earned the Dane a move to Serie A in 2019 with a talented Bologna outfit, amassing 70 appearances in a three-year spell in Italy.
On the international stage, Skov Olsen made his debut for Denmark in October 2020 and was part of the squad for the European Championships in 2021, where his side reached the semi-finals.
Club Brugge then swooped to secure the winger’s signature in January 2022, with Skov Olsen helping the side lift the league title in his first season before netting the decisive goal in the Belgian Super Cup against Gent in July.
A UEFA Champions League debut arrived in the subsequent campaign as the winger teed up the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in his first appearance in the competition before netting in a 4-0 away win over Porto in the following group stage match.
The 2023/24 campaign proved particularly fruitful for the Danish international, registering a remarkable 38 goal contributions for club and country as Club Brugge regained the Belgian Pro League title.
After an outstanding first half of the campaign last season with the Belgian side, where he scored or assisted 12 times in just 19 outings in the league, Skov Olsen made the move to VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
His game time in Germany was limited in the first half of the season and after being unveiled to the Ibrox faithful upon the move prior to the Annan cup fixture, the winger’s debut arrived nine days later as he was in the lineup from the off in the 3-0 Scottish Premiership success against Dundee, before a second successive start arrived in Edinburgh on Sunday afternoon.
Ryan Naderi
German forward Ryan Naderi became the fourth and final signing of the January transfer window, joining on a long-term deal on deadline day from Hansa Rostock.
The striker added further options to the Rangers attacking ranks alongside the likes of Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski, as he looks to hit the ground running in front of goal in Glasgow following his arrival, the first move out of his home country.
Naderi began his senior career with his hometown club, Dresden, before moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021.
After three seasons, he switched to Hansa in 2024, where this campaign he has notched eight goals and five assists in 18 outings.
Now the attacker is looking to continue his football development in Glasgow.
He featured for 90 minutes in his former club’s league match on Saturday afternoon and will be looking to make his debut for the Gers in the outings to come, when they host Kilmarnock in league action this evening before welcoming Queen’s Park to Ibrox in the Scottish Cup fifth round on Sunday afternoon.
